On 3 and 4 July 2026, Weese Sport celebrated the 20th edition of its charity weekend with a summer night party and a beach volleyball tournament. For two decades, numerous volunteers have been dedicated to turning community spirit, sport and entertainment into valuable support for social and charitable projects in the region.
Traditionally, the charity weekend begins with a large party on Friday evening. This year, the 20th anniversary made the evening especially memorable. Alongside music, a great atmosphere and many personal encounters, it provided the perfect opportunity to look back on two decades of voluntary commitment and a strong sense of community. Of course, we at bema were also on site to offer our congratulations and celebrate together.
On Saturday, the traditional beach volleyball tournament followed on the grounds of the Hülsmann family next to the bema halls. Once again, a total of 40 amateur teams took part. The festive highlight was the award ceremony during the summer night party in the bema shipping hall.
The idea of doing good together through shared events has a much longer history in Weese. Its roots date back to 1974, when the “Weese 10” organized their first charity event, the so-called “Trimm-Dich-Fest”, in support of Heilpädagogische Hilfe Bersenbrück (HpH). In 2004, this led to the founding of the Weese Sport association. At the same time, the current event format combining a Schlager party, beach volleyball tournament and summer night party was established. In 2026, it took place for the 20th time – including two cancellations due to COVID.
What is particularly impressive is the dedication of the many volunteers who invest their time and energy in this good cause year after year. Since 2004, around 210,000 euros in donations have been raised through the events organized by Weese Sport up to 2025. In addition, there are the donations from the anniversary year 2026.
